Ag Prayer Breakfast
The 2017 Ag Prayer Breakfast was once again a great event this year!
The keynote speaker was Rita Vander Kooi, of Ocheda Dairy, Worthington, Minn.. Rita and her husband, Joe, have four children: Vince (11), Liv (8), Ava (5), and Violet (2). They met while attending the University of Minnesota – St. Paul, and have been married for 13 years.
Rita and Joe farm with Joe’s father, Dave. Ocheda Dairy is home to 1,300 milking cows. The family takes great pride in operating a farm that is a thriving business in rural America and they enjoy adapting to the ever-changing dairy industry.
Nearly two years ago, Rita’s and Joe’s daughter Ava, somehow became unbuckled from the backseat of a side-by-side she was riding. She suffered extensive damage to the bundle of nerves that operated her right arm. Through Rita’s blog, SoSheMarriedAFarmer, many people have come to support their family, their farm, and Ava’s journey to regain some of her arm function. Rita and Joe were excited to share their testimony of God’s love and faithfulness, even in the midst of tragedy.
