The 11th Annual Dairy Open House wrapped up National Dairy Month activities. Despite the large amount of rain days prior only a few changes had to be made and Summit Farm was ready to welcome nearly 1,000 people to their farm. Summit Farm is only a 1.5 miles from the city of Lester and due to the rain, the food and kids tent were relocated to the Lester Community Center. With the humid day it was perfect to allow attendees a chance to cool off after touring the farm. While out on the farm everyone had the opportunity to see the milking parlor, free-stall barn, and feed commodities area. It was great opportunity to share the story of a modern dairy farm and agriculture to our guest.
This event wouldn't be possible without the help of our sponsors and volunteers. It is because of your time and dedication that WIDA is able to continue to share our dairy stories across the region, helping consumers understand the importance of our industry and the impact we can have on our community.
